Upgrading Your DStv Decoder
Changing from an older decoder to different DStv equipment can require changes to the existing installation.
Before an upgrade is completed, it is useful to determine what equipment is currently installed and whether the existing dish, cabling and connections are suitable for the new configuration.
Contact Action DStv with details of your current decoder and the equipment you intend to install.
DStv Explora Upgrades
Planning to upgrade to a compatible DStv Explora system?
An Explora installation may have different installation requirements depending on the equipment and existing satellite setup at the property.
We can assist with compatible Explora installation, connections and checks to the existing DStv system.
Existing DStv Installation Upgrades
Not every upgrade requires an entirely new satellite installation.
Where suitable equipment is already installed, parts of the existing system may be retained while other components or connections are changed.
We can inspect the existing installation and determine what may need to be adjusted for the planned upgrade.
Extra View Upgrades
Changes to a multi-decoder or compatible Extra View installation may require adjustments to the way the equipment is connected and configured.
If you are replacing or upgrading equipment within an existing setup, tell us which decoders you currently have so we can assess the installation requirements.
Satellite Dish and Cabling Checks
The existing satellite dish and cabling form an important part of a DStv installation.
When equipment is upgraded, we can check the existing installation for signal reception, cabling condition and compatible connections.
If another part of the installation requires attention, we can identify it before completing the necessary setup.
Moving From an Older DStv Installation
Older DStv installations may have been configured for equipment that differs from newer decoder setups.
If you have an older installation and are changing your DStv equipment, we can inspect the current system and determine what installation changes may be required.
This helps avoid assuming that every existing component must be replaced when some parts of the installation may still be suitable.
