Signal strength below 60% on your DStv self-service screen? Here’s how to get it back up.
1. Re-align the dish
Even a few millimetres of drift cuts signal quality. A professional alignment takes 15 minutes.
2. Upgrade the LNB
Old or weather-damaged LNBs lose sensitivity. A new Smart LNB is an immediate upgrade.
3. Replace old cabling
Pre-2010 satellite cable is often sub-spec. Modern RG6 with proper F-connectors makes a real difference.
4. Trim back trees
Even leaves in the signal path can cause pixelating. Keep a clear line of sight to the sky.
5. Add an amplifier if needed
For very long cable runs, an in-line amplifier restores signal strength at the decoder.
